Youth Tour Ambassador Program
Carbon County Museum’s Youth Tour Ambassador program is ready to kick off another summer. The Youth Tour Ambassador program gives students (4th – 12th grade) the chance to volunteer in a museum setting. Student participants learn Carbon County history, tour presentation techniques, visitor services, and other museum tasks.
Student participants will commit to volunteer two hours a week (or 20 hours over the three-month program) to assist museum staff in visitor services activities. Their responsibilities will include learningThey will get to learn exhibit materials for museum programs and guided tours, guiding direct museum visitors through specific gallery spaces and exhibits, lead tours and assisting museum staff in find out what goes on behind the scenes to preparing prepare for group visits and educational programs.
The program will end with a student-planned, student-led Family Open House. It’ll be a fun time for participants to show family and friends everything they've learned at the museum.
The 2017 Youth Tour Ambassador program is open for four new students accepted on a first come, first served basis. Applications will be available at Carbon County Museum or online starting April 25th.
